-- JOHN W. SIMONS, 60, of 1921 Wood St., on Sunday on charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor battery after a fight allegedly about custody of his grandchild.

-- KIMBERLY S. DRAKE, 39, no known address, at 8:21 a.m. Thursday at the Rock County Jail on five counts of felony forgery and five counts of misdemeanor theft.

-- DAI-RON L. VANCE-JENKINS, 24, of 846 Kellogg Ave., No. 1, Janesville, at 8:30 p.m. Monday for possession of crack cocaine, second offense.

-- PENNY ROELING, 24, of 1912 N. Washington St., Janesville, at 10:50 a.m. Monday on a charge of child neglect.


-- ROCKPORT ROAD JUST EAST OF RIMROCK ROAD, JANESVILLE, at 12:37 p.m. Thursday. David Gunn, 56, of 4511 Murray Road, Janesville, turned out of a driveway heading west on Rockport Road when he was struck from behind by a car traveling west driven by Mitchell P. Kakuske, 17, of 1051 Bouchard Drive, Apt. A, Janesville. Kakuske was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed and failure to wear a seat belt. Kakuske allegedly was driving between 50 to 55 miles an hour in a 45-mile-an-hour zone. Andrew Diemer, 18, of 8250 W. Mineral Point Road, was in Kakuskeís car and was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where he was treated and released. Kakuske also was transported but his condition was not released because he is a minor.

-- HIGHWAY 11 WEST OF ROCKPORT ROAD in Janesville Township. At 1:42 p.m. Sept. 23, Patricia L. Ball, 58, of 1819 Liberty Lane, Beloit, was driving east on Highway 11 toward the intersection of Rockport Road and Willowdale Road. An eastbound car was stopped legally waiting to turn left onto

Willowdale Road. Ball tried to pass on the right and struck a straight truck stopped at a stop sign while driving north on Rockport Road. Ballís vehicle slid into Highway 11 and rolled onto its roof. She was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where she was admitted for five days for treatment. She was cited for knowingly operating while suspended and causing damage, operating without insurance, second offense operating after suspension and not having authorized license plates.


-- THEFT of a Janesville womanís wallet containing cash and credit cards at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at Danielsí Food Sentry Store, 2822 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville. By the time the wallet was reported stolen, a credit card inside it was used to charge items at various Janesville stores.

-- BURGLARY Monday to a home in the 200 block of Riverside Drive in Janesville. A garage window was broken and three fishing poles were reported stolen.

-- 25 MARIJUANA PLANTS growing north of the Highway 14 bike trail 100 yards east of Best Buy, 2850 Deerfield Drive, Janesville. Police on Friday

determined the plants were wild. They were destroyed

and discarded in an authorized area of the cityís compost facility.
