Janesville Cougars, Vikings lose soccer matches

— Janesville Craig High School lost to host Madison East, 6-1, Tuesday to conclude the Big Eight Conference regular season.

East scored four goals in the first half and rolled to a 6-0 lead before Lucas Prijic scored for Craig with an assist from Peter Cooney at the 76-minute mark.

“We played hard at the end,” Craig coach Charles Friedrich said. “The second half it was 2-1, and there could have been more goals for us.’’

Craig hosts Beloit in a nonconference match Thursday.

-- La Follette 3, Parker 0—The visiting Lancers scored twice in the first half en route to the Big Eight win.

Jon Fillian made eight saves for Parker (1-14-2, 1-8-0).

“La Follette is a typical good Madison team,” Parker coach Andy Holmes said. “And I thought we played with them pretty well. We had some good shots on goal but couldn’t finish.”

Parker hosts Stoughton on Thursday night.
