Milton High’s football team had the last word Friday night at Reedsburg, and it was a game-winner for the Red Hawks.


Tyler Westrick fired a 43-yard touchdown pass to Riley Kovars in the fourth quarter, and Westrick converted the extra point to give Milton a 14-13, come-from-behind win in a nonconference game.


Kovars also scored on a 69-yard pass from Westrick in the first quarter, and Westrick also kicked the extra point for a 7-0 lead. Reedsburg retaliated with two Colton Brott touchdowns, one on a 75-yard fumble return and the other on a 3-yard run, and led 13-7 in the fourth quarter.


Westrick, a freshman, completed 14 of 26 passes for 262 yards as the Red Hawks improved to 3-4 for the season. Kovars caught seven passes for 201 yards as Milton dropped the Beavers to a 1-6 record.

James Nachtigal caught six passes for 112 yards, including scores of 19 and 15 yards, from Drew Dunkleberger, to lead a 229-yard passing attack.


Sophomore Tyler Courtier led a 229-yard rushing game with 127 yards on 18 carries, including the opening score on a 1-yard run.


Jake Gundlach led the Panthers (1-6, 0-4) with 110 yards rushing on 27 carries. Fumbles ended two Oregon drives within the Fort 20.

Edgewood’s Seth White passed for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Teammate Bennet Young rushed for a TD and also caught a touchdown pass.
