UW-Rock County Rattlers split nonleague games

The UW-Rock women won, but the men’s team lost to College of Lake County in nonconference college basketball action Tuesday night in Illinois.


Danielle Heldt scored 20 points as the Rattlers took over in the second half of a 60-38 victory in the women’s game.


Coach Scott Lee praised the defensive play of Rachel O’Leary, as the women improved to 3-4. UW-Rock trailed, 21-20, at halftime.


In the men’s game, College of Lake County outscored the Rattlers, 45-17, in the second half to earn an 82-48 victory.


The Rattlers (3-4) made 10 three-pointers. Jordan Conway had 12 points, while Andy Hanus added 10.


The Rattler squads travel to Springfield, Ill., on Saturday to play Lincoln Lake College.
