Janesville Parker High School seniors Adam Vesterfelt and Erik Albeck were singled out for individual achievements on the 2011 All-Big Eight Conference football team.

The 6-foot, 3-inch, 195-pound Vesterfelt is the running back of the year, while the 6-3, 195-pound Albeck is the Big Eight’s return specialist and defensive back of the year.

Also for Parker, Michael Rainiero, 6-2, 240-pound senior, is a first-team offensive lineman. The Vikings’ Brad Money, a 6-2, 190-pound senior, is a first-team outside linebacker and teammate Max Monson, a 6-1, 240-pound senior, is a first-team defensive lineman.

Meanwhile, Janesville Craig’s Erik Davis, a 6-3, 246-pound junior, is a first-team offensive lineman.

Albeck, who shares return specialist honors with Tyrone Galvin of Madison East, held a kickoff return average of 29.7 yards and a punt return average of 27.9. Albeck returned two punts and two kickoffs for touchdowns in 2011.

“Erik has great foot speed,” Parker coach Joe Dye said. “He runs state track and that speaks well for him.’’

Vesterfelt holds Parker’s career rushing record. He gained 1,713 yards and scored 25 touchdowns on 223 carries for the 2011 Big Eight season.

“Adam had a great career,” Dye said. “He played three years (varsity) and never missed a snap. He is a selfless player.’’
