The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has awarded the Rock County Sheriff's Office a $35,000 Alcohol Grant, a $35,000 Speed Grant, and a $20,000 Seatbelt Grant.

The funds will be used to assist the Sheriff's Office with enhanced enforcement efforts through September of next year. This year the Rock County Sheriff's Office will partner with local agencies including Fulton Township P.D., Milton Township P.D., Town of Turtle and other local agencies to participate in joint enforcements.

Sheriff's Captain Gary Groelle says additional patrol units will be assigned for speed, alcohol, and seatbelt enforcement during the upcoming holiday weekend.
