Rock County

-- SHANE C. LAVEEN, 35, of 829 E. Milwaukee St., No. 4, Janesville, charged with two counts of forgery and one count of misdemeanor theft. A Janesville man told police he was missing a book of checks and that 15 already had been forged and cashed.

-- JUSTIN J. BURAGE, 23, Carol Stream, Ill., charged with possession of 10 to 50 grams of heroin with intent to deliver.

He is accused of carrying two small bags of heroin in his car when stopped at 12:37 p.m. Thursday by the State Patrol on Interstate 90/39 northbound in La Prairie Township.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- THEODORE W. TIFFANY, 37, of 1256 S. Walnut St., Janesville, at 3:23 a.m. Sunday at 1124 W. State St., Janesville.

-- JENNIFER L. WELTZIN, 32, of 258 S. Jackson St. lower, Janesville, at 1:10 a.m. Friday at Parker Drive and Holmes Street, Janesville.

-- DAVID E. ELLENBERGER JR., 36, of 824 S. Fremont St., Janesville, at 11:13 p.m. Thursday at Main and Clark streets, Janesville. The arrest was listed as his second for intoxicated driving.


-- INTERSTATE 90/39 NORTHBOUND NEAR BELOIT at 5:18 p.m. Saturday. A semitrailer truck and another vehicle collided, sending the vehicle into the median. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries, the State Patrol reported.


-- BURGLARY to Main Street Mercantile, a resale store at 770 S. Main St., Janesville, reported Sunday. A reported $16,933 in cash was taken. The incident is the subject of an ongoing investigation. No further details were immediately available.

-- STRANGULATION as part of a domestic violence incident at 4:49 a.m. Sunday at 107 S. Main St. No. 2. A suspect, who also allegedly broke a window, was being sought.

-- BURGLARY to a residence in the 200 block of Sinclair Street, Janesville, reported Nov. 11. Taken were two LCD TVs valued at $550.

-- CAR CHASE at 3:27 p.m. Saturday, starting at Center Avenue and Van Buren Street in Janesville. A green Plymouth Neon slowed but then accelerated after an officer initiated a traffic stop. The officer broke off the chase at Court and Jackson streets. The vehicle was seen eastbound at high speed on Court Street. Police have the name of a suspect.

-- SEARCH WARRANT executed by Janesville police at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at 327 Linn St., Janesville. Nothing was found, and no one was at home. Police were looking for evidence in a case in another jurisdiction and for a suspect.

-- BURGLARY to a residence in the 2400 block of Cherokee Road, Janesville, reported Thursday. A DVD player and prescription pills were taken.
