Janesville Jets gain shutout victory

— The Janesville Jets defeated Coulee Region, 3-0, Friday in North American Hockey League action at the Janesville Ice Arena.

Janesville (15-4-1) remains two points behind St. Louis for first place in the Midwest Division.

Adam Frank scored at 14 minutes, 34 seconds of the first period with an assist from Pijus Rulevicius for the only goal Janesville would need.

Jets’ goalkeeper Tony Kujava earned his second straight shutout and sixth of the season. Kujava has bounced back after getting benched in the St. Louis series in Janesville two weeks ago.

The Jets’ Michael Preston added an empty net goal, and Davis Dekote scored on an assist from Janesville Craig High School senior Conor Lemirande and Lawrence Childs to complete the scoring.

The Jets host the Chill at 7 tonight.
