Postseason honors continue to pile up for Kenneth Walker and Luke Kahl.

The Walworth Big Foot seniors both made the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association all-state first-team after earlier being named the Player of the Year at their positions in the Rock Valley South Conference.

Walker was the Back of the Year, while Kahl was named Lineman of the Year. Jefferson’s Nate Keller was the Back of the Year in the Rock Valley North, and Jefferson’s Esau Ramirez was Lineman of the Year.

Big Foot’s Rodney Wedig, who led the Chiefs to a fifth straight South title, was the Coach of the Year. Jefferson’s Steve Gee was the Coach of the Year in the North after leading the Eagles to an unbeaten Rock North record.

Walker rushed for 1,444 yards and scored 24 touchdowns, and added 270 receiving yards and four touchdown receptions.

“I don’t think I’ll see another back in our conference have the kind of year Kenneth had.” Wedig said. “When he had the ball in his hands, especially at our home games, there was a buzz throughout the stands because you knew he could score each and every time.

“And as impressive as his stats were, you have to remember that he didn’t play in the second half in six of our games because we were in control.”

Kahl anchored an offensive line that also produced 1,000-yard rusher and first-team selection Mason Dixon.

“Luke was a kid that made sure everybody was settled in and doing their job,” Wedig said. “Anchor is the perfect word for him because that’s what he was for us.”

The South’s first-team wide receivers were Orfordville Parkview’s Jameson Lavery and Brodhead/Juda’s Levi Frost. Brodhead/Juda’s Jesse DeLorme and Palmyra-Eagle’s Ryan Rapacz joined Walker and Dixon in the backfield.

Keller rushed for 1,425 yards and scored 23 touchdowns to earn the North’s Back of the Year.

Edgerton Collin Gregory, who threw for 1,520 yards and 15 touchdowns, was the first-team quarterback in the North. East Troy’s D.J. Sweet and Evansville’s Dalton Sendelbach joined Keller in the first-team backfield. Edgerton’s Tyler Oren, who averaged 19.7 yards per catch and scored seven touchdowns, leads the North’s first-team receivers. Oren, Sweet, Ramirez and Edgerton’s Adam Carlson were first-team selections on both sides of the ball.

Walker, Kahl, Big Foot’s Garrett Cary, Palmyra-Eagle’s Caleb Lucht and Parkview’s Joe Busch were two-way first-team selections for the South.
