— A Lake Geneva man led a list of donors who exceeded the $10,000 limit on campaign contributions last year, according to a complaint filed by the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign.

Government Accountability Board spokesman Reid Magney said all of the cases have been resolved and fines were paid to the board in cases where there was a violation. He did not immediately have details of how each case were resolved.

The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign filed a complaint Wednesday saying it found 29 cases where the limit was exceeded.

Robert Fettig who lives in Lake Geneva and is president of Tankcraft in Darien, gave $16,150, according to the complaint.

Judith Couri, an executive with Couri Insurance Agency in Waukesha, donated $16,100.

The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign said 24 of the donors gave most or all of the money to Republican candidates, and five gave most or all to Democrats.

Most of the contributors represent special interests, including the insurance, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, finance and transportation industries, according to the complaint. One contributor listed an Illinois address, and the other 28 were from Wisconsin.

The state Government Accountability Board can fine violators $500 plus triple the amount by which the limit was exceeded.
