— Forward Sam Dekker has signed to play basketball at Wisconsin in 2012.

Dekker, a 6-8, 215-pound forward from Lutheran High School in Sheboygan, averaged 28.8 points, 10.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game as a junior last season.

Badgers coach Bo Ryan said Dekker has “first-class intangibles” and can play several different positions.

Ryan says Dekker could have gone to just about any school after becoming “the talk of the country this past July” during national Amateur Athletic Union events—tournaments for club teams held outside of high school competition.

But Ryan says Dekker wanted to be at Wisconsin rather than look elsewhere.

Marquette adds three

Marquette has signed three players for the class of 2012: junior college guard T.J. Taylor, center Aaron Durley and forward Steve Taylor.

Taylor signed with Oklahoma coming out of high school, but never played for the Sooners after sustaining a concussion. The 6-3, 220-pounder transferred to Paris Junior College in Texas and will join the Golden Eagles next season.

The 6-10, 270-pound Durley missed the 2010-11 season because of an Achilles injury and will play at Ft. Bend Bush High School in Texas this season.

Taylor, a 6-7, 210-pounder out of Chicago’s Simeon High School, averaged 9.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last season.
