UW-Rock County Rattlers gain sweep on road

— The UW-Rock County men’s and women’s basketball teams posted Wisconsin Collegiate Conference victories Tuesday over UW-Fond du Lac.

The Rock County men squeezed out a 64-61 victory in overtime. The Rock County women staved off a second-half charge to secure their first victory of the season, 64-56.


The victories lifted the men to 2-2, and the women improved to 1-3.


Jordan Conway scored seven of the Rattlers’ nine points in the overtime for the win. Conway finished with a team-high 17 points.


John Condon added 12 points, and Jordan Young chipped in 11 for Rock County.


Meanwhile, Lindsay Oliver scored 22 points, including making three of her five three-point attempts in the first half, for the Rattlers. April Wellnitz and Danielle Heldt added 11 points apiece.


UW-Rock women host UW-Marathon at 1 p.m. Saturday. The men play Marathon at


3 p.m. It’s the home opener for both teams.
