Arrests

-- BRENDA L. GAMMETER, 53, of 107 State Street, Janesville, at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday on a bench warrant charging her with failing to appear in court on a previous change of operating while intoxicated, fifth offense. She was also arrested on a warrant charging her with felony bail jumping.


-- SAVANA D. REW, 18, of 1524 E. Racine St., Apt. 13, Janesville, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at 3704 Stuart St., No. 5, Janesville, on a charge of second-degree recklessly endangering safety. Rew is accused of backing at a high rate of speed into another vehicle in the parking lot of Romanís 66, 108 Center Ave., Janesville, at 5:59 p.m. Monday. No one was injured in the crash, according to police reports.


Intoxicated driving arrests

-- THERESE M. SMYTHE, 47, De Forest, at 7:53 p.m. Sunday at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, on a charge of causing injury by intoxicated driving. Smythe was westbound on Racine Street east of Palmer Drive when at 7:14 p.m. Sunday she struck a truck driven by Steven M. Mertes, 43, of 418 Caroline St., Janesville. Smythe continued west on Racine Street until her vehicle struck a tree on the west side of Randall Avenue at Racine at 7:15 p.m. She attempted to flee the scene a second time. During that crash investigation, a police report stated Smythe was transported for treatment of her intoxication. Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, said she was not treated there.


-- ERIC L. HAZELTINE, 24, of 103 Division St., Milton, at 2:32 a.m. Sunday at Parker Drive and Hyatt Street in Janesville. The arrest was listed as Hazeltineís second on an intoxicated driving charge.


-- STEPHEN Y. GARRETT, 44, of 2234 N. Huron Drive, Janesville, at 12:05 a.m. Sunday at 1260 Milton Ave., Janesville. The arrest was listed as Garrettís third on an intoxicated driving charge.


Reported

-- THEFT of a U-Haul truck reported Monday by One Stop Auto, 339 W. Delavan Drive, Janesville. A Madison woman allegedly rented the truck in September and had not returned it.


-- THEFT reported at 10:42 a.m. Nov. 1 on Scharine Road in Johnstown Township. Reported stolen was jewelry valued at $3,600.


-- BURGLARY reported at 4:44 p.m. Thursday on East Road Six in Milton Township. A garage door was forced open and an open case of Mountain Dew was taken.


-- BURGLARY reported at 7:12 p.m. Thursday in the 9100 block of North Fulton Street, Edgerton. Reported stolen was a chain saw valued at $200.


Accidents

-- CENTER AVENUE AT MCKINLEY STREET, JANESVILLE, at 7:37 a.m. Monday. A large sport utility vehicle driven by Crystal M. Bauman, 29, of 333 N. High St., Janesville, pulled out from a stop sign on McKinley and struck a car that was southbound on Center driven by Mary J. See, 56, of 112 N. Washington St., Janesville. See and a passenger in Baumanís vehicle, Kristen M. Barry-Yuhas, 10, were transported for medical treatment, according to police reports. Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, had no record of See, and Mercy does not release information on juveniles. Baumann was cited for operating while suspended, failing to have a child in a child restraint, failure to yield the right of way, no liability insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle.


-- PARKER DRIVE AND CENTERWAY, Janesville, at 8:26 a.m. Monday, Allie R. Schaitel, 20, of 103 Division St., Milton, was driving south on Parker Drive. She tried to turn left onto Centerway, and her Honda Civic struck a Ford F350 pickup truck driven by Bruce A. Titus, 45, of 1212 Clark St., Janesville. Schaitel was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where she was treated for her injuries and released.


Charged

-- QURAN T. JOHNSON, 19, of 255 S. Jackson St., No. 4, Janesville, with false imprisonment, strangulation, battery and criminal damage. All the charges carry domestic abuse riders.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- TIMOTHY E. MCGINTY, 43, Lombard, Ill., at 7:29 p.m. Saturday on West Main Street, Whitewater. He also was cited for hit and run causing property damage.


-- JUSTIN L. HORNER, 21, Fort Atkinson, at 2:23 a.m. Sunday on South Freemont Street, Whitewater.
