— Police are seeking information on a hit-and-run accident last weekend that left St. Johns Lutheran Church, 910 E. High St., with $10,000 in damages.

Police believe the hit-and-run occurred Friday night or early Saturday. The vehicle smashed a large hole through the northeast corner of the brick church, Milton Police Lt. John Conger said.

Based on paint transfers and an emblem left at the church, investigators believe the vehicle involved was a blue Ford pickup truck. Conger said investigators also believe someone was driving recklessly in a parking lot adjacent to the church when the accident happened.

Police continue to investigate, and Janesville Area Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

To offer information, call the Milton Police Department at (608) 757-2244, Crimestoppers at (608) 756-3636 or send tips via text to 274637, then JAC, plus your message.
