Janesville School Board expels student Tuesday
JANESVILLE The Janesville School Board expelled a high school student Tuesday.
The student was accused of repeated refusal to obey school rules.
The student is expelled through the end of the 2011-12 school year but can apply for reinstatement as early as 2011 summer school.
To be reinstated, the student must comply with any recommendations from drug/alcohol counseling, get a written report from a counselor and comply with conditions of probation.
If he or she returns early, the student must submit to random searches, continue to take any prescribed medication, continue with counseling and maintain satisfactory attendance, behavior and schoolwork.
This brings to 13 the number of expulsions this school year, compared with 26 at this time last year.
