— A Whitewater Township man must spend two weeks in Walworth County Jail and write a letter of apology to the officer who was injured while chasing him on foot from a drinking party.

Michael A. Tuttle, 18, of W3516 Vannoy Drive, pleaded guilty Monday to three misdemeanor charges in connection with a Nov. 18 incident. Tuttle also was fined $500 for each of the charges, Walworth County Judge Robert Kennedy ruled.

Officer Adam Vander Steeg dislocated his shoulder when he and Tuttle fell to the ground as the officer attempted to stop Tuttle from running, according to a criminal complaint.

Vander Steeg was on medical leave for six weeks recovering from the injury, a police official said.
