— Janesville Craig High School lost to host Madison La Follette, 2-1, in overtime Tuesday to conclude the Big Eight Conference girls soccer season.

Morgan La Plante, recently named Wisconsin State Player of the Year, scored the winning goal unassisted at 82 minutes, 31 seconds. Craig finished 3-6 in the Big Eight.

It was a very tough game, very physical,” Craig coach Bill McCabe said. “We played right with them and we had our chances, but it just didn’t go.’’

Sarah Ziegler scored Craig’s goal with an assist from Chelsea Sheedy at 47:37 to tie the match. La Plante gave La Follette a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick at 20:11.
