Janesville Craig senior Sara Ennocenti placed eighth in the vault at the National High School Gymnastics Coaches Association Senior Showcase event at Fort Myers, Fla. on Friday and Saturday.

Ennocenti earned a score of 9.1.

Both Ennocenti and Carleigh Felstead of Milton made the finals on the bars. Ennocenti had a 9.225 in the preliminaries, while Felstead earned a 9.3

Felstead finished 13th in the event.

Milton’s Cassie Cropp also competed on the Wisconsin team, which earned the sportsmanship award in the event that featured teams from 14 states.

“I am very proud of Sara,” said Craig coach Jean Welch, who served as an assistant coach on the Wisconsin team. “She had a great meet, competing as an all-arounder. We knew her best chance at a medal was the vault, and both days she completely rocked her vault.”

Ennocenti, who qualified for the WIAA State Meet the past three years, will attend UW-La Crosse next year.
