Cougars rally late, hand Beloit Snappers sixth straight loss

— Kane County scored five runs in the final two innings to defeat Beloit, 8-5, in a Midwest League game Monday night at Pohlman Field.

The Snappers have lost six in a row, and now welcome division-leading Burlington in for a three-game series starting at 6:30 tonight.


Lance Ray showed signs of breaking out of his slump, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. He hit a homer in the fourth. Beloit led 4-0 and 5-3, but the Cougars scored a run in the eighth and four more in the ninth.


Derek McCallum’s three-run double in the the third put the Snappers up 3-0.
