— Two people remain hospitalized after a Saturday accident that left a mother and her two sons dead.

Bernardo Sandoval, 39, of Janesville, remains at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center. His condition was not available.

Jamie Dieckhoff, 36, of Orfordville, was in fair condition at University Hospital in Madison.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident at 9:48 a.m. Saturday on Highway 11 west of Janesville.

Investigation showed that a car driven by Sandoval was traveling west on Highway 11 when he swerved into to avoid a pickup truck turning into a driveway.

Sandoval then collided with a minivan driven by Anthony Dieckhoff.

Elvira Sanchez-DeSandoval and her son, Diego Sandoval, 6, were declared dead at the scene by Rock County Chief Deputy Coroner Lou Smit.

Alan Sandoval, 4, was flown to University Hospital where he died from his injuries.
