Cougars blank Beloit Snappers

— The Beloit Snappers were held to three hits Sunday en route to a 4-0 loss to the visiting Kane County Cougars in Midwest League baseball.

Cougars starter Jason Adam (1-0) pitched a three-hit shutout through eight innings to send Beloit to its fifth straight defeat. Adam posted six strikeouts and walked none.


Kane County’s Travis Jones hit a mamouth solo home run off Snappers’ starter Manuel Soliman in the second inning that hit the top of the centerfield scoreboard in Pohlman Field for the only run the Cougars would need.


Soliman (1-2) allowed four runs on six hits through five innings to take the loss.
