The seniors came up big for Janesville Parker on their day.

Senior Jacque Ludois went 2-for-2 with three RBIs to help the Vikings to an 8-0 victory over visiting Madison Memorial in Big Eight Conference softball Thursday.

“The seniors came through for us,” said Parker coach Jenni Seisser. “It was probably the most complete game I’ve seen them play.”

The Vikings scored in five of their six at-bats and had base- runners on in each of the six.

Junior Kayce Chesebro also had two hits, including an RBI triple. Another junior, Natalie McDonald, had a double.

Ashley Ross pitched the complete-game two-hitter, striking out four.

“We only had one error, and that was borderline,” Seisser said. “Ashley pitched a very solid game, plus we played seven solid innings defensively. I was very pleased. It was a nice sendoff for the seniors.”

Parker (4-13 in the Big Eight, 4-16 overall) plays Orfordville Parkview in a nonconference game at 4:30 p.m. today at the Janesville Youth Sports Complex. The Vikings complete the Big Eight regular season at Beloit on Tuesday.

-- Craig 15, West 0—The Cougars pounded out 12 hits and used a five-run first and a seven-run sixth to overwhelm host Madison West in a game called after six innings.

Haley Bayreuther, Nicole Kelly and Shelby Hanewold each had two hits as the Cougars went to 12-5 in the Big Eight and 13-7 overall.

“We really hit the ball well,” said Craig coach Dan Bayreuther. “The story of the game was how our bottom of the order came through.”

After the five-run first, the Cougars added three in the third inning. With two out, Autum Sullivan singled, Hanewold tripled and Jill Blanchard doubled to give Craig a 7-0 lead. Another run scored on an error.

Paige Weber pitched a five-hit shutout.

“Paige was consistent all night,” Bayreuther said. “West had the bases loaded with one out in the third, but other than that, it was pretty quiet.”

Craig completes the Big Eight season against Sun Prairie on Tuesday, then completes the regular season with a nonconference game against Fort Atkinson on Thursday.
