— Matt Knutson’s solid spring continued Saturday for Janesville Parker’s boys tennis team.

The Viking senior won both of his matches at No. 1 singles at the Milton Triangular.

The host Red Hawks, behind the No. 1 doubles team of Tyson Banh and Dylan Meyer, won both of their matches to win the title. Milton defeated Parker, 5-2, and Jefferson, 7-0. Jefferson slipped past Parker, 4-3.

Knutson, who is 10-1 the last two weeks, won both of his matches, 6-1, 6-1.

“Matt’s really playing well right now,” Parker coach Mike Fuhrmann said. “And Ryan (Ploof) had a nice day, too, going 2-0.

“The conditions weren’t the greatest being wet and windy, but it was playable and the same for everybody.”

Parker will wrap up the Big Eight Conference dual-meet season Monday when it hosts Madison West.
