Kane County’s early lead too much for Beloit

— Kane County’s six-run second-inning sent the visiting Beloit Snappers to an 8-2 loss Wednesday in Midwest League baseball.

The Cougars benefited from two errors and five hits, including a three-run homer and a two-run triple for a 6-0 lead.


Snappers starter Manuel Soliman (0-1) allowed eight runs—two earned—on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings to take the loss.


The Snappers had 11 hits, including Michael Gonzales’ solo home run in the sixth inning.
