— Janesville Parker High School had too many misadventures in the field en route to a 7-3 loss to visiting Verona in Big Eight Conference softball Friday.

“We started off on a bad note. We were totally flat-footed tonight,” Parker coach Jenni Seisser said. “We had only two innings when we played solid defense, and then we had all those errors.”

The Vikings were guilty of nine errors.

Parker scored all its runs in the seventh. Ashley Ross led off with a triple and Jensen Henke double Ross home to highlight the inning.

Parker (3-12, 3-9) plays at Sun Prairie at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
