Four seeking Orfordville trustee positions

Four candidates are running for three seats. Candidates Phillip Zuege and Kurt Fullmer did not respond to requests from the Gazette for information.

Dale A. Peterson (I)

Age: 51

Address: 403 E. Howe St.

Job: Self-employed

Education: 1977 graduate of Brodhead High School, some continuing education.

Community service: Viking youth baseball coach, involved in various fundraising efforts.

Elected posts: Elected to village board in 1995 and have served eight terms as trustee. Also on various village committees.

Major campaign issues: “The village will be facing fiscal challenges with the recent budget repair bill. The impact is still unknown, but we know difficult decisions will have to be made.”

Beth M. Schmidt

Age: 52

Address: 110 S. Wright St.

Job: Server and trainer at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, Janesville.

Education: Janesville high school graduate, two-year associate’s degree in accounting-Blackhawk Technical College.

Community service: School events and church community events

Elected posts: None

Major campaign issues: “I am running for village board because I want to serve my community bringing new innovative ideas to our village, making Orfordville a better place. I am committed to bringing jobs to our industrial park and attracting families to our small-town way of life, while being responsible to the taxpayers.”
