Six candidates vie for Sharon Village Board
PAMELA WOODRICH
Age: 60

Job: Food service, Sharon Community School.
Education: Graduated from Big Foot High School in 1969
Community service: “I have worn bunny costumes, worked food and game booths, served on the Fourth of July parade committee and have served on the firemens auxiliary.”
Elected posts: Appointed to the Sharon Village Board in December 2010.
Major campaign issues: “We all want to live in a village we are proud of. The hard part is accomplishing this within our means. I joined the board in December. I am impressed with their determination to do just that. I’d like the opportunity to continue working with the board to serve our community.”
MICHAEL E. BROOKE (I)
Age: 60
Address: Address: 126 Pearl St., Sharon.
Job: General commercial and residential contractor
Education: Earned an A.A.S. in mathematics from William Rainey Harper College, Palatine, Ill., in 1970; graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in construction management in 1978.
Community service: Firefighter/EMT, technical safety adviser with Sharon Fire and Rescue; past president of the Sharon Lions Club; past president of the Sharon Chamber of Commerce; music director of St. Catherine Church.
Elected posts: Member of the Sharon Village Board from 2000-02 and from 2007-present
Major campaign issues: “I will work to keep the village financially strong, to promote economic growth and renew pride in volunteerism.”
ROBERT W. CARLSON
Age: 51
Address: 103 E. Stateline Road, Sharon.
Job: Owner of Lookin’ Good Turf and Snow Services
Education: Some college in Elgin, Ill.
Community service: Member of the Sharon Main Street Association; member of the Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus and Sharon Chamber of Commerce.
Elected posts: Served as village trustee from 1993-95 and in 2000. Served as village president from 2001-06.

Do you mean, does he show up for calls when he is available, presents the dept. with new and most recent safety info, makes most if not all meetings and trainings, continues and refreshes his education and training, gets involved with fundraisers? Then yes.
