Keynote at Forward Janesville Annual Dinner may attract crowds
Podcast Episode
WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on high profile nature of this year's Forward Janesville Annual Dinner
The Forward Janesville Annual Dinner in two weeks may be the most popular in more than a decade.
Forward Janesville President John Beckord expects a sell-out crowd, eager to hear from keynote speaker Governor Scott Walker. Beckord says Forward Janesville has invited Governor's in the past, including James Doyle, who received a warm welcome.
This year however, because of the Governor's budget policies, other groups are taking notice. Beckord says Janesville police are reviewing security and preparing for possible protests.

That's alright goofball, I will be there with my camera taking pictures of all the moronic protesters standing by their foreign cars... BTW I would think you understand that cut the cable means the same thing pull the plug in "media talk" Either way it was a vandals attack, which really does testify to the mentality of the 99,999 people up there right?

Yeah sarah, how many were from out of state and had to be shipped in? I know that Michael Moore is a true wisconsinite... no he isnt. What about the union thugs from chicago that cut that cable on fox news.. 100,000 if it is a true number represents less than 2% of Wisconsin's population, more accurately sarah, less than 0.5% of the voting public was represented by the Madison protestors. but you all learned your math from public school teachers so you all must be right!

I hear you. Just keep in mind that this is a local contributor list... meaning that individuals who listed their Janesville address while representing a corporation wound up in the query.
-
The database is fairly powerful. ABC, Sargento, Johnsonville, Koch, etc. were able to post tens of thousands of dollars through multiple contributions from many locales. Hundreds of individuals, without corporate affiliation or 'self-employed' also contributed from all over the country.
-
Anyways, I though the correlation between construction, manufacturing, and the GOP was strong.

newglasses, that's a very good list. I don't think anyone will argue their contributions if you missed a few hundred here or there. It's understandable to miss the Gazette since all of their contributions to Walker and the GOP are in propaganda dollars, but they should be at the top of the list with ABC Supply second. The bottom line is any paycheck wage earners who buy product and services from any of these companies are only hurting themselves. Your money is being used to buy politicians to work against you. Spend Smart.

Politics and equality...on what planet?
Its all about which party can buy the most votes leveraged by what they can give back to the supporters who financed the purchase of those votes. Business bought more votes in November for the republicans than the unions bought for the democrats. Get over it and move on.

Numbers suck!
According to the 2009 estimate for the U.S. Census, 5,654,774 people live in the state of Wisconsin. Of those, 23.2% are under the age of 18, and presumably are not subject to much in the way of income tax. That still leaves about 4,342,867 taxpayers in the state of Wisconsin. If you wished to trim $30 million off of the budget, that works out to about $6.91 per Wisconsin taxpayer. So I must ask: Is it fair that you ask $3000 of teachers, but you fail to ask $6.91 of everyone? I know that times are tough, but would it not be more equitable to ask that each taxpayer in the state contribute an extra 13 cents a week?

The American dream is dying because the left is systematically killing it. Freedom and liberty are what the american dream is based on. Big government, government unions, high taxes, and ignoring the constitution are the seeds of its distruction.

Prosperity in the United States in the last 50 post-war years was built on American working class families and the belief that through hard work one could succeed. The American Dream is dying. The rich, through tax credits that exceed the national deficit, are getting richer and richer...and the rest of "ordinary" people are becoming poorer and poorer. What is so sad is to hear the cheering of people who vote against their own self interest-- they may have no decent health care, no job opportunities, no security--but they swallow the lies of the big money Republicans who believe the United States should be government by the rich and for the rich.

Public unions, out to destroy our state? I am curious where the repubs went right after this monstrocity passed? D C at a national fundraiser!!! Your assumptions about your majority are laughable at best. I would say that trade deals widely supported by corporate repubs and dems have destroyed OUR state more than anything!! The unions are here to set standards for everyone, to make sure there is some kind of standard. Why do we need unions? ask chinese workers and others in 3rd world countries, wake up and smell the poverty!! Anyone that is poor that votes for these corporatists is a gullible idiot that votes based on TV commercials on Fox. If enough people get poor enough this will all stop, there is a recall revolution coming, and the repubs that were arrogant enough to believe that this wasnt coming, will learn to listen. I also will tell you this will scare the CRAP out of Walker, as it should. He will, like Obama, have to admit to a shillacking. Will he? No, he thinks that he is the second coming of Reagan. problem with that premise is Reagan RAISED taxes, and said a world without collective bargaining is a world without freedom!

@ MUD- you soound like your posts are just full of garbage you hear on your favorite radio shows, and on your only TV channel! Calling folks commies and socialists makes you look stupid. Protesting for things you disagree with is quite a democratic thing to do! As well as recalling these bastards who are trying to push this garbage through, so get ready the "commies and socialists" are taking their democracy back, shortly! jackwagon!

Here's another opportunity to let the Gov. and GOP know what you think of their power-mongering this week as well..... Protest Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, FRIDAY morning (March 18) from 7-10 at the Holiday Inn Express, I90-Hwy14. Unlike Forward Janesville's "invitation only" event, the pro-Wisconsin event is open to all.
