— The Rock County Sheriff's Office is investigating a rash of nine burglaries to homes in Janesville and Fulton townships.

Capt. Jude Maurer said the burglaries started in mid-February and include at least three break-ins where residents were home.

Investigators believe the burglaries are linked to two men working together to steal electronics or money, Maurer said.

The burglars break doors or windows to enter the home, usually between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m., he said.

When residents were home, the burglars asked for money and opened drawers, Maurer said. They haven't displayed weapons or made threats.

The burglaries have happened in an area from Highway 51 west to Burdick Road, and from Miles Road south to Highway 14.

In one burglary, the suspects cut a telephone line before entering the home, Maurer said.

Maurer urged people to call law enforcement to report any suspicious activity.
