Applications for appointment to seats on the Blackhawk Technical College Board will be accepted until 4 p.m. Friday, March 18.

One of those appointed to the three-year terms must hold an elected national, state or local office, according to the rules governing board membership. The other two seats are open to any district resident.

The terms start Friday, July 1. Board members are not paid, except for expenses.

Applicants must submit two references supporting their nominations and must attend a meeting of the District Board Appointment Committee to be interviewed.

The committee of two comprises the chairpersons of the Rock and Green county boards.

The committee will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in Room N-1 at the Rock County Courthouse, 51 S. Main St., Janesville.

A second meeting might be scheduled Tuesday, April 19, at the same time and location, to accommodate candidates who could not attend the first meeting.

For application forms, contact Jackie Pins, assistant to the president and district board, Blackhawk Technical College, 6004 S. County G, P.O. Box 5009, Janesville, WI 53547.

Pins' phone number is (608) 757-7772, and her e-mail is jpins@blackhawk.edu.
