Edgerton’s streak snapped at 13, other scores

Fort Atkinsion had too many spurts for Edgerton High’s girls basketball Monday night.


The last one left Rock Valley North champion Edgerton with a 60-49 nonconference loss, snapping the Crimsom Tide’s 13-game win streak.


Edgerton (19-2) repeatedly battled back after Fort Atkinson (14-7) spurted to leads up to 10 points, and it was 43-40 after three quarters. The Blachhawks then scored the first 11 points of the final period, and the Tide had no comeback for that.


Lexie Weigand scored 15 points to lead Fort Atkinson’s four double-figure scorers. Meggie Schmidt had a game-high 21 for Edgerton.

-- Burlington 41, Westosha 36—The Demons bounced back from a 23-22 first-half deficit to corral a Southern Lakes victory over the Falcons.


Danielle Evert scored six of her 10 points in the fourth quarter for the Demons. Faith Lois scored 12 points for the Falcons.


The victory lifted Burlington to 8-13 overall and 6-6 in the Lakes. Wilmot dropped to 11-11 and 6-8.

St. Joesph bounced back with a 14-13 advantage in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 28-20. East Troy (18-3) gained a 15-3 advantage in the third quarter for a 43-23 lead.


Teresa Verick and Breanna Gaspervich scored eight points apiece to lead East Troy.

wasn’t enough to pull the Whippets over the Panthers in nonconference play.


Whitewater (11-10) held a 25-14 halftime lead, but the Panthers buried the Whippets 25-13 in the third quarter to take a 39-38 lead.


Karli Dorn scored six of 12 points in the fourth quarter to spark Wilmot’s victory. Kaytlyn Eidson scored 13 of her 17 points in the second half for Wilmot (11-10).
