Blackshirts top Janesville Parker Vikings

— Janesville Parker High School struggled in the third quarter and lost 58-49 to host Waukesha South in nonconference girls basketball Monday night.

The Vikings fell to 14-6 overall, and the Blackshirts improved to 16-6.


Parker trailed 31-30 at the half, but the Blackshirts rolled to a 13-4 advantage in the third quarter to take a 44-34 lead into the final period.


Danielle Flood scored just one of her team-high 18 points in the third, while teammate Ashley Hartwig, who finished with 17 points, went scoreless. Flood scored 11 points in the first half, while Hartwig added 12.


Lexi Weitzer, the Blackshirts’ 6-foot, 3-inch sophomore, gave the Vikings a challenge on the boards. Katy Allen scored 14 of her 22 points in the first half for Waukesha. Teammate Eileen Van Horn scored seven of her 16 points in the third quarter.
