— A Janesville man accused in a double-fatal crash should stand trial on two counts of homicide by drunken driving, a Rock County court commissioner ruled Wednesday.

Omar Tavizon-Ramos, 21, is charged in the Easter morning deaths of Jeffery S. Bauer, 19, of Janesville and his grandmother Margaret Worden, 61, of Janesville. He also is charged with causing injury by drunken driving to his passenger, Gilberto Vargas-Cano of Janesville.

Testimony in the preliminary hearing was taken June 21, and prosecutors on Wednesday submitted a toxicology report indicating Ramos was legally intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Judge Ken Forbeck is assigned to the case, but defense attorney Michael Murphy requested a substitution.

An arraignment is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, July 7.
