— An undercover investigation lead to the Tuesday arrest of a Janesville man on child pornography charges.

Kevin J. Johnson, 43, of 433 1/2 N. Chatham St., Janesville, was arrested at 9 a.m. Tuesday at home on charges of 13 counts of possession of child pornography, according to an arrest report.

According to the report:

The Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation began an undercover Internet investigation in January.

During that investigation, they discovered an individual involved in the trade and collection of child pornography.

Investigators were able to track the activity to a Janesville resident who was using AT&T as an Internet provider.

State investigator Vern Vanderberg subpoenaed AT&T and learned that the Internet address was registered to the Chatham Street address.

On Friday, a Rock County judge signed a search warrant prepared by the Janesville Police Department.

During Tuesday's search, state forensic analyst Drew Schoenek discovered 13 images of child pornography on the computer.

A similar state investigation lead to the arrest in December of another Janesville man, Gerald Gardner, 46, on charges of five counts of possession of child pornography.

That case is still open, according to online court records.

Johnson is being held in the Rock County Jail.
