The awards keep piling up for Fort Atkinson High School’s softball team.

The Blackhawks, who won a second straight Badger South title, have placed four players on the all-conference first team.

Milton pitcher Jessi Duoss, a unanimous pick, joins Fort Atkinson pitcher Kaitlyn Hollman, outfielder Lauren Pfeifer, second baseman Amber Foerster and utility player Maddie Bare on the first team. Foerster, a junior and a unanimous pick, is a repeater from a year ago.

The Blackhawks went 10-2 in the conference and advanced to the Division 1 sectional title game before losing to state runner-up Wilmot,

2-0.

“We’ve had a nice run the last four years,” said Fort Atkinson coach Jeff Agnew. “We won the Southern Lakes the last year we were in it and have won the Badger South two of the three years.”

Foerster, a junior, hit .375 for the season and was solid defensively. Hollman, a sophomore, finished 16-4 on the season with a 1.58 ERA.

“Amber is the type of player you love to coach,” Agnew said. “She’s got great range defensively and knows how to get on base.

“And as well as Kaitlyn threw for us this season, her best years are ahead of her.”

Pfeifer, a sophomore, hit .380, and the junior Bare batted .375.

Duoss did a little bit of everything for the Red Hawks. The senior was the leadoff hitter to go along with her pitching duties. The UW-Platteville recruit went 15-8 with an ERA just over 2.00 and 169 strikeouts.

“Jessi was a true leader on the field for us,” Milton coach Mindy Bilhorn said. “With her on the mound the last three years, that’s one position I haven’t had to worry about. She just went out and did her job.”

Joining Duoss and Foerster as unanimous picks are Madison Edgewood shortstop Megan Tancill and Stoughton outfielder Andrea Lawrence.
