— Officials searching for Ty D. Sitter, 23, of Janesville have found an object they say is shaped like a body at Sitter’s last known location in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Searchers using sonar located the object in Swan Lake in around 90 feet of water near where Sitter’s canoe was found, according to a Cook County Sheriff’s Department release.

Officials stopped searching Sunday evening after their remote-controlled underwater vehicle malfunctioned. They plan to continue the search today with help from a neighboring county sheriff’s department.

Sitter was reported missing early Friday morning. He was camping with his father and brother who reported him missing after he didn’t returning from fishing alone Thursday night.

Sitter’s canoe was found upright with about 4 inches of water inside. His life jacket, tackle box and fishing net also were found, but not his fishing pole.
