The clean up is expected to take some time after a severe thunderstorm, with high winds, rolled through Rock County early Wednesday evening.

The 911 Emergency Dispatch Center reports receiving about 150 calls of downed trees and power lines. Janesville Police report as many as 50 trees partially blocking roadways in the city. Janesville Fire officials say lightning appears to have hit a house on Crystal Springs Road. Their biggest concern was sparking power lines coming in contact with trees, branches, and buildings.

Alliant Energy says close to 1900 customers were without power at the height of the storm, with about 900 affected in Janesville, and more than 500 in Edgerton.
