Council members from both city's appeared eager to share not just ideas, but equipment and resources.

Beloit City Council President Kevin Leavy remarked the honesty at the meeting showed members wanted to do this for quite a while. Janesville City Council President George Brunner says a good place to start is combined purchase power. An inventory of each community's equipment and services will be shared at a meeting planned for September.

Council members say the goal is to save money while improving services.
