— You could be handing Rock County sheriff's deputies more than your driver's license the next time you're pulled over for speeding.

The county is now accepting fine payments with credits cards. Capt. Gary Groelle says it's a convenience for both the county and the person paying the fine.

Groelle says the county started looking into the service after someone asked if they could pay their ticket with a credit card. In addition to paying at home online, you can also pay the deputy at the time of the trarffic stop. He says they can do it through the county's 911 dispatch center. There's no service fee like you find at many ATMs.

Groelle says if you want to pay a fine online, go to governmentpayment.com and where is says pay location code, put 1547, which is Rock County's pay location code.
