Ortiz’s RBI triple breaks Beloit Snappers tie

— The Beloit Snappers withstood Dayton’s ninth-inning threat here Wednesday night for a 6-5 victory that gave them their fourth straight win.

Daniel Ortiz had a RBI triple to key Beloit’s two-run sixth inning, which broke a 4-4 tie.


The Dragons loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth before Beloit reliever Jose Gonzalez finally got a strikeout to preserve the victory and gain the save.
