A 16-year-old Milton boy was taken into custody at 8 p.m. Tuesday at home. The teens were referred to juvenile authorities on charges of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

The Janesville teen was taken into custody as the result of an anonymous tip, according to the release. Janesville Area CrimeStoppers and the Milton Police Department offered cash for information about the May 25 incident.

About 40 headstones were knocked over. Police estimated damage at $60,000.

The department encourages people whose family members’ headstones were damaged to contact the department immediately at (608) 757-2244. If enough victims are identified, the teens could be charged with felonies, the release states.
