Duoss delivers for Milton, other scores

Jessi Duoss earned her 15th victory of the season as Milton High advanced to the WIAA Division 1 regional softball finals with a 7-4 victory over visiting Burlington on Tuesday.

The Red Hawks (15-8) play at Waterford in a regional final Thursday. The winner advances to the Janesville Craig Sectional.

The score was tied at 2-2 when Becky Knutson hit a two-out, two-run double to give Milton the lead over Burlington. Knutson scored on Chandler Richards’ hit.

Milton’s Haley Fischer went 3-for-4 in a game that had eight doubles.

Fort Atkinson (18-6) hosts Janesville Craig (15-8) on Thursday in a regional final game. The winner advances to the Craig Sectional.

The Blackhawks pounded out 13 hits, including a double and a triple from Maddy Podmolik.

Hollman, a sophomore, struck out nine and walked only one.

n Edgerton 10, Big Foot 3—Tia Cleveland struck out seven in five innings to lead the top-ranked Crimson Tide (20-2) to the Division 2 regional semifinal win.

Edgerton hosts Turner in a regional final game Thursday. The winner advances to a semifinal game at Whitewater in the Evansville Sectional.

The Crimson Tide pounded out 10 hits, including three from Anne Tronnes.

Ami Wright had four hits for Turner, including a double and a home run. Maci Weiser added three hits, including a double and a triple.

Brodhead host Cuba City on Thursday in a regional final game. The winner advances to semifinal game at Brodhead in the Boscobel Sectional.

The Cardinals raced out to a 7-0 lead after two innings. Brodhead finished with 16 hits, including three from Taylor Douglas.
