Rock County gains $81,000 food, shelter grant
A local board of representatives from Rock County government, Catholic Charities, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and area United Ways will determine how the funds are to be distributed by local service agencies.
Under the terms of the grant, agencies chosen to receive funds must be private, voluntary nonprofits with a voluntary board or units of government; be eligible to receive federal funds; have an accounting system; practice nondiscrimination, and have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs.
Qualifying agencies are encouraged to apply for funds no later than Monday, Aug. 15.
