Schwantes shuts out Milton

Watertown’s Andy Schwantes scattered eight hits and shut out the Milton Raptors in Rock River League action Sunday afternoon, 5-0.

Schwantes had shut out the Raptors earlier in the season. On Sunday, he got out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth and a two-on, no-out situation in the fifth.

Watertown leadoff hitter Pat McFarland went 4-for-5, and teammate Nick Cahoon put the game out of reach with a two-run homer in the eighth.

Joe Shere and Matt Fredricks each had two hits for Milton, which fell to 9-6. Watertown is 10-5.

Milton travels to Johnson Creek for a 1:30 game next Sunday.
