Fort Atkinson remained in first place in the East Division of the Southeast Section of th Home Talent League, but Evansville made the visitors work for a win Sunday.

Bobby Bastien drove in one run in the third and scored on Bryan Wallace’s single in the fifth, and the Generals defeated Evansville, 2-1.

Chris Koepke pitched eight innings, escaping a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the eight, to help the General improve to 10-4. Koepke struck out six. Dan Dean pitched the ninth to earn the save.

Evansville (5-9) tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth.

Kyle Schulz led the Jays’ nine-hit attack, going 3-for-4, including a double.

-- Orfordville 4, Cambridge 0—Orfordville (10-4) rode the pitching of Joe Lange to a shutout victory over host Stoughton.

Lange allowed just three hits and struck out 12 in the complete-game win.

Mike Jacobs, Brandon Smith, Ryan Schmitz, and Ty Martin each had two hits in Orfordville’s 10-hit offense.

-- Albion 10, Jefferson 9—Albion scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to keeps its playoff hopes alive.

The Tigers produced five singles and benefitted from a wild pitch to overcome a 9-6 deficit.

Trevor Kinnett and Kyle Johnson each hit RBI singles. Kinnett scored the tying run on a wild pitch as Ethan Vaade was attempting a suicide squeeze bunt.

Johnson moved to third on the play and scored the winning run on Vaade’s single to right.

Albion led 6-4 but rolled for five runs in the seventh to take the 9-6 lead. Mike Nanstad pitched 2 2/3 innings of shutout relief to take the victory.

Adam Gregory went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a home run and three RBIs. Aaron Laskowski went 3-for-5 with a double and drove in three runs.
