— A 30-year-old Whitewater man has been charged with theft after police say he stole $4,000 on June 23 from a safe at the Eastsider Gas Station, 650 E. Milwaukee St.

Joshua J. Gallman, W4795 Fremont St., was an employee of an oil supply company when he was caught on video breaking into the station, police say. He faces a sentence of up to three years in prison if found guilty of the felony charge.

Gaillman's next court appearance is Aug. 11. He is free on $1,000 cash bond.
