— Janesville’s American Legion baseball team fell behind early and suffered a 7-2 loss Monday to host Genoa City.

Genoa City gained a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a pair of RBI singles and a run-scoring triple off starter Connor Long. Genoa City added four unearned runs in the fifth to seal the victory.


Janesville, playing its sixth game in four days, committed five errors.


Brandon Hughes had a bases-loaded RBI sacrifice fly, and Charlie Meyer added an RBI single in the sixth inning to account for Janesville’s runs.


Janesville (15-10) hosts Burlington at 7 tonight to conclude the regular-season home schedule.
