Chiefs rally past Beloit Snappers

— The Beloit Snappers held a short-lived 2-1 lead en route to a 3-2 loss Wednesday to the Peoria Chiefs in Midwest League baseball.

Mike Gonzales hit a solo home run to leadoff the seventh inning, and Lance Ray doubled and scored on a throwing error to put the Snappers ahead 2-1.


Peoria bounced back in the bottom of the inning, taking a 3-2 lead on a pair of singles. The winning run scored after the runner stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error.


Snappers reliever Jose Gonzalez (4-3) took the loss, allowing two runs—one earned—on three hits in two innings.
