Whitewater High’s boys basketball program is on its first roll under first-year coach Dan Gnatzig.


The visiting Whippets took control in a 20-8 first quarter Friday night and downed Walworth Big Foot, 51-37, in a Rock Valley crossover game for their third straight victory.


Austin Morkved hit two three-pointers in the first quarter and finished with 10 points for Whitewater. Dawson Mills was the Whippets’ game leader with 12, while Braiden Voss and C.J. Nelson each added 10.


Ian Carthey scored 14 points to lead Big Foot (2-13, 1-9).

n Clinton 66, Evansville 60—Clinton’s Rock Valley South leaders built a 48-33 advantage through three quarters, then withstood visiting Evansville’s 27-point final period for a conference crossover victory.


Cody Risseeuw had nine field goals for 18 points to lead the host Cougars (13-2, 9-1). Chandler Stevenson and Aaron Roth each added 10 for Clinton.


Casey Moseley led the fourth-quarter Blue Devil charge with 10 of his 18 points. Dylan Erickson had a 15-point game for Evansville (7-6, 5-5), and Adam Stamm added 10—including eight in the final quarter.

n East Troy 88, Parkview 23—Tanner Plomb scored 13 of his game-high 27 points in the first half to lead East Troy’s Rock Valley North leaders to victory at Orfordville.


East Troy (14-1, 10-0) roared to a 48-13 halftime lead, holding Parkview to one point in the second quarter.


Myles Olsen added 19 points for East Troy, while Nate Dodge and Brett Prahl scored 14 points apiece. Kyle Woodworth had 12 points for Parkview (1-12, 0-10).
