Elkhorn gets 'free' victory, Burlington wins

Free throws proved to be the difference for Elkhorn High School’s boys basketball team Thursday night.


The Elks made 14 in the fourth quarter, including six by Hayden Forrestal, in pulling away for a 58-52 win in a Southern Lakes game against visiting Wilmot.


Elkhorn (7-8, 4-4) got a game-high 19 points from Brock Poggensee, while Forrestal added 16 and Kyle Hoskins 14.


Jay Christian had 17 points to lead Wilmot (2-11, 2-6).

-- Burlington 74, Westosha 48—The first-place Demons (12-2, 8-0) coasted to a Southern Lakes win over visiting Westosha Central (7-7, 4-4).


Burlington, which led 41-19 at halftime, got 13 points from Travis Crayton and 11 from Gabe Clavarich. A total of of 13 players scored for the Demons.


Dalton Sjong had 14 points to lead Westosha.
